Job DescriptionSmall Engine & Equipment MechanicNew River Landscaping West is hiring a full-time Small Engine & Equipment Mechanic to keep our crews and equipment running.

We are looking for someone who is strong with mowers, small engines, landscape equipment, and light construction equipment.
You do not need to be a heavy truck or diesel mechanic.
If you can troubleshoot equipment, make repairs, stay ahead of maintenance, and take ownership of the shop, we want to talk to you.

What You’ll Work On

• Commercial zero-turn mowers
  
  
• Walk-behind mowers
  
  
• Blowers, trimmers, edgers, and chainsaws
  
  
• Small engines
  
  
• Mini skid steers
  
  
• Trenchers and compact equipment
  
  
• Hydraulic systems
  
  
• Trailers
  
  
• Basic truck maintenance and minor repairs
  
  
• Preventative maintenance across the fleet
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Strong small-engine and equipment repair experience
  
  
• Good troubleshooting skills
  
  
• Experience with commercial landscape equipment preferred
  
  
• Basic hydraulic and electrical knowledge
  
  
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and inspections
  
  
• Organized and dependable
  
  
• Able to keep parts and supplies stocked
  
  
• Takes ownership and follows repairs through to completion
  
  

What This Job Is Really About

We need someone who can keep our equipment ready to work every morning.
You will be expected to catch problems before they become major breakdowns, keep up with preventative maintenance, and get equipment repaired quickly when something goes down.

Truck experience is helpful, but it is not the main focus of this position.

We are much more interested in someone who understands small engines, mowers, landscape equipment, and compact machinery.
