Legal Assistant

Location: Boston, MA
Work Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday
Compensation: Salary (Non-Exempt)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant who can seamlessly integrate into a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced legal environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong organization and attention to detail across all case materials and administrative tasks
  • Manage heavy calendaring, docketing, and eFiling responsibilities
  • Proactively manage attorney calendars and case deadlines
  • Follow up with attorneys to ensure all filing and case deadlines are met
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and case information
  • Collect case information and prepare client engagement documentation
  • Track and maintain statistical data for internal reporting and analysis
  • Prepare initial drafts of litigation documents for attorney review, including:
    • Discovery requests and responses
    • Case opening and closing filings
  • Conduct legal research, writing, analysis, and cite checking
  • Collaborate with the billing department regarding client billing matters
  • Assist with special projects and additional administrative tasks as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal assistant experience
  • Litigation experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to anticipate needs and work independently with minimal direction
  • Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working collaboratively in a team-based environment


Technical Skills

Experience with the following systems is preferred:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Westlaw
  • Litify
  • Docrio
  • Chrome River

Work Hours

Candidates may choose from the following schedule options:

  • 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM


All schedules include a one-hour lunch break. Overtime may be required as workload demands.




During the first six months of employment, the position requires working in the office five days per week for training and onboarding. After successful completion of the training period, employees may be eligible to work remotely two days per week.
