About the Role:

The Snow Removal Technician plays a critical role in ensuring safe and accessible environments around manufacturing facilities, particularly during winter months. This position is responsible for the timely and efficient removal of snow and ice from designated areas such as parking lots, walkways, loading docks, and entryways to prevent accidents and maintain operational continuity. The technician will operate various snow removal equipment and apply de-icing materials as needed, adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to weather conditions, anticipating snow events and responding promptly to maintain clear and safe surfaces. Ultimately, the Snow Removal Technician contributes to the overall safety and productivity of the manufacturing site by minimizing weather-related disruptions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate snow removal equipment safely and effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor in cold and potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and during snow events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in snow removal or grounds maintenance.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations related to winter weather operations.
  • Basic mechanical skills for equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Certification in equipment operation or safety training related to snow removal.
  • Knowledge of environmental best practices for de-icing materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate snow plows, snow blowers, shovels, and other snow removal equipment to clear snow and ice from assigned areas.
  • Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing agents to prevent ice formation and improve traction on walkways and roadways.
  • Monitor weather forecasts and respond promptly to snow and ice accumulation to maintain safe conditions.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and perform basic maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to protect oneself and others during snow removal operations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work progress and any issues encountered.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including areas serviced and materials used.
