JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Site Manager DEPT: ELD

REPORTS TO: Assistant Coordinator of Program Design FLSA: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall operation of the center for children and staff by managing the day-to-day functions of assigned Early Learning Division center(s). Ensure adequate systems are in place to maintain the highest quality of services to children and families in compliance with state, local, and federal mandates.

CHILDREN SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for child supervision and for keeping children safe.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervision of designated center staff and ensure completion of required tasks for each category of staff.
  2. Monitors staff attendance, timesheets/ADP, leave requests, and site files for staff and children for compliance.
  3. Provide center orientation to new staff assigned to the site, and also conduct performance appraisals on all supervised staff.
  4. Conducts regular staff meetings, develops and monitors staff schedules, and observes and provides feedback on a regular basis.
  5. Assist and accept responsibility in daily duties in the absence of key center staff, including site coverage and compliance.
  6. Maintains and monitors center data collection, completion of reports, and participation in related center meetings.
  7. Manage all inventories for the site(s), including but not limited to furniture, office, and classroom supplies.
  8. Encourage and support family engagement in all aspects of the program, including attending parent meetings, Policy Council representation, and events.
  9. Ensure that record keeping and follow-ups are complete for assigned center(s).
  10. Contributes to the collection and ensure correct documentation for the Child and Adult Care Food program (CACFP).
  11. Manage issues and concerns from parents/guardians regarding children or center concerns.
  12. Maintain professionalism at all times through actions and behaviors.
  13. Encourage/support professional development opportunities for staff, and also maintain personnel folders on all staff.
  14. Responsible for the maintenance of licensure compliance.
  15. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and at least one year of supervisory experience in a Human Services/Early Childhood Education program OR Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and working towards a Bachelor’s degree plus three years of supervisory experience in a Human Services/Early Childhood Education program.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with children, families, and staff.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of various processes, including database management, spreadsheet, word processing, internet, and email.
  • Must obtain knowledge of Federal Head Start Performance Standards, philosophy, and mission.
  • Demonstrated strong supervisory experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must have the ability and willingness to travel.
  • Must have a valid CT Driver’s license with a good driving record.
