Location: Century City, Los Angeles, CA
Salary Range: $80,000 – $92,000
Schedule: Full-time (37.5 hours/week); hybrid eligible (4 days in-office, 1 remote) after 90 days
Direct Counsel is partnering with a leading California law firm to identify a Litigation Legal Secretary for a high-priority opening in the firm’s Los Angeles (Century City) office. This position supports a Practice Group Leader, a Shareholder, and an Associate across a dynamic caseload that includes entertainment, intellectual property, and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of providing seamless support in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities

Manage complex calendars, meetings, depositions, and court appearances for three attorneys

Prepare and finalize legal documents for filing in both federal and state courts, including e-filing

Coordinate with court reporters, expert witnesses, and third-party vendors

Organize and maintain physical and digital case files; track court deadlines and litigation calendars

Process incoming/outgoing mail and correspondence per attorney instructions

Handle time entry, expense reports, billing edits, and conflict check forms

Maintain professional and confidential client communications

Provide cross-coverage and administrative support as needed
Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of litigation legal secretarial experience in a law firm environment

Strong working knowledge of federal and California state court rules and e-filing procedures

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with legal DMS and timekeeping systems

Ability to support multiple attorneys, including at the partner/shareholder level

Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
