Robert Half has partnered with a new company on their search for a self-starting Accounting & Human Resources Specialist who can provide hands-on support across both accounting and human resources functions. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional who is comfortable working across multiple areas, handling confidential information, and balancing competing priorities in a small to mid-sized business environment.


Accounting & Finance Duties:

  • Record and maintain accurate accounting transactions, including journal entries and general ledger activity.
  • Provide day-to-day support for accounts receivable functions, including customer billing, invoicing, and follow-up as needed.
  • Assist with accounts payable responsibilities, including invoice processing, vendor communications, and bill payments.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and corporate credit cards and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist with monthly and annual financial close activities.
  • Compile financial information and reports to support management's budgeting and forecasting efforts.
  • Review financial records for accuracy while adhering to established accounting procedures, controls, and applicable standards.
  • Work with outside accounting professionals and auditors by providing requested documentation and information.
  • Assist with other accounting projects and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Human Resources Duties:

  • Facilitate the new hire process from offer acceptance through onboarding, including required documentation and orientation.
  • Oversee day-to-day benefits administration and respond to employee questions regarding benefit programs.
  • Keep personnel files and HR records current, accurate, and compliant with company requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook to reflect current company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Act as a resource for employees and management regarding general HR questions, policies, and workplace matters.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and verify employee information to help ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Support employee performance initiatives, policy updates, and programs designed to promote employee engagement.
  • Assist with various HR projects, reporting, and compliance activities as needed.

The ideal Accounting & Human Resources Specialist will have a Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.


Other requirements for the Accounting & Human Resources Specialist role include and are not limited to:

  • 3+ years of combined accounting and/or human resources experience
  • Experience using accounting, payroll, and/or HR systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • QuickBooks preferred
  • Great organization and time management skills
