Tiny humans. Big milestones. Meaningful work.

In our Busy Bees classroom, a day might bring a first roll-over, a new sound, a wobbly attempt to sit up, or the moment a baby decides you're one of their people.

Those moments matter.

Gainesville Empowerment Zone Family Learning Center is looking for a warm, attentive, and dependable Infant Teacher who understands that caring for babies is about much more than meeting their basic needs. It's about building trust, encouraging development, responding to individual cues, and creating the secure relationships that make early learning possible.

If you're someone who genuinely enjoys babies-the cuddles, bottles, floor time, songs, routines, messy moments, and milestones, our Busy Bees may be your kind of classroom.

Your Role

You'll help create a calm, nurturing, and engaging environment where each baby is known as an individual.

That means being present and responsive throughout the day by talking, singing, reading, playing on the floor, encouraging movement and exploration, and making everyday routines part of the learning experience.

You'll also:

  • Provide attentive, responsive care based on each infant's individual needs and routines
  • Support physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development through meaningful interaction and play
  • Maintain close supervision and a safe, clean, organized infant environment
  • Follow safe feeding, diapering, sanitation, and sleep practices
  • Observe and document children's development and emerging milestones
  • Communicate warmly and professionally with families
  • Work collaboratively with your teaching partner and the larger GEZFLC team

What You'll Bring

Required

  • Experience caring for infants in a licensed early childhood setting
  • Florida DCF-required childcare training completed
  • Current required childcare certifications
  • Strong understanding of infant safety, development, and responsive caregiving
  • Dependability, patience, attentiveness, and strong teamwork skills

Preferred

  • CDA, Florida Staff Credential, or equivalent early childhood credential
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Experience with infant curriculum, developmental observations, or assessments

Who Thrives in the Busy Bees?

Someone who notices the little things.

You're the person who realizes a baby is getting tired before the tears begin. You get down on the floor instead of watching from across the room. You talk to babies even before they can answer. You understand that feeding, diapering, rocking, and comforting aren't interruptions to learning, they're opportunities for connection.

You're also someone your teaching partner can count on. You see what needs to be done, pitch in, communicate, and understand that caring well for a room full of infants takes a true team.

Why GEZFLC?

We're a community committed to helping children thrive, supporting families, and giving our youngest learners the strongest possible beginning.

You'll find a collaborative team, opportunities to grow professionally, and meaningful work where the relationships you build matter every single day.

If babies are your people, we'd love to meet you.

Come help our Busy Bees learn, grow, and discover their world.

We Grow Greatness from the very beginning!
