At Mahaska Health the primary role of the Stock Clerk is to receive, control, store, and accurately issue all items stored in inventory/stock.
Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to,
- Coordinate with user departments the storage and delivery of supplies and equipment on a scheduled basis.
- Delivers desired goods and services on time with good quality and quantity.
- Receiving, inspecting, verifying, and accepting or rejecting all supplies and equipment delivered to the campus.
- Process all necessary paperwork/documentation such as packing slips, bills of lading, receiving reports, and logs so that payments can be authorized.
- Wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) when performing job duties.
- Ability to read and understand SDS sheets.
- Ability to handle hazardous material.
- Demonstrates proper precautions and procedures for infections, electrical, steam, and chemical hazards, heavy dust, and environmental and disinfectant solutions.
- Must have the ability to accurately communicate orders by phone, in person, and written.
- Maintain neat and accurate files.
- Assist in maintaining the computer inventory system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to operate a copying and duplicating machine.
- Report any violation of OSHA Regulations to the supervisor.
- Notify the supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.
- Be flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.

- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with employees, visitors, medical staff, and patients, keeping in mind the person’s unique needs within their age category (refer to Mahaska Health’s Age Specific Standards of Care Policy).
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Attend required training, certifications, and continuing education.
- All other duties as assigned or requested.
Job Requirements include but are not limited to,
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Required to have a valid driver’s license and proof of good driving record.
- Required to have limited liability insurance; coverage limit be $100,000 Each/ $300,000 Aggregate or $300,000 Combined Single Limit.
- Required to be current in BLS (Basic Life Support) by the standards of the American Heart Association.
- Will be required to show proof of having completed Mandatory Reporter course at the time of hire or attend within 6 months of the start date.
- Must adhere to all training requirements as mandated by Federal, State, and Professional licensure and regulatory standards.
- Understand and comply with the requirements of MH’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, Mahaska Health Experience Book and all supporting policies for compliance, and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities.
