Job Summary
The Truck Tire Mechanic is responsible for the safe and efficient installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of commercial truck tires. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, replace, balance, and rotate commercial truck tires.
- Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper fitment.
- Operate tire machines and perform manual tire service as needed.
- Safely handle and transport truck tires.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles.
- Accurately document work performed and parts used.
- Follow all safety procedures and report equipment or safety concerns.
- Complete required training and maintain high work standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year or more of related tire or mechanical experience preferred.
- TIA (Tire Industry Association) certification preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with tire installation and repair experience.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions with no shortcuts.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
- Ability to use Tire Machines and also be able to remove and install tire on rims by hand when necessary.
- Strong commitment to safety for yourself, coworkers, and equipment.
- Must be able to lift, wheel, and move truck tires.
