The Village of Lemont is thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity in our Public Works department! Our Public Works Department consists of Streets & Maintenance, Water & Sewer and Fleet Divisions!
This Maintenance Worker I position reports directly to our experienced crew leaders in the Streets and Maintenance Division. The Streets and Maintenance team plays a vital part in maintaining the beauty and functionality of our village.
This position performs a variety of street maintenance duties, operates construction and maintenance equipment such as trucks, street sweepers, tractors, and skip loaders for a variety of construction and maintenance operation involving streets, sidewalks and gutters.
This is unskilled and semi-skilled work involving a variety of manual labor tasks. Responsibilities include the construction, maintenance, and repairs of streets, sidewalks, sewers and storm drains, water system mains, pipes, and facilities, as well as working on traffic signs and being part of the paint crew just to name a few!!!!

Minimum Requirements:
· High school Diploma or equivalent
· Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class “B” CDL Illinois Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
· Must have strong customer service skills when dealing with residents and other stakeholders.
· Proven ability to work in a team environment.
