Position Title: Retail Regional Manager - East TN
Department: Retail Operations
Reports To: Chief Retail Officer
Location: UT Federal Credit Union (UTFCU) - Knoxville, TN
Position Summary:
UT Federal Credit Union is seeking a dynamic and people-focused Retail Regional Manager to oversee a defined group of branches within our retail network. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and fostering a best-in-class member experience across all assigned locations.
The Retail Regional Manager will lead a team of branch managers and support staff, providing day-to-day leadership through active coaching, observation, recognition, and support. They will serve as a key operational and cultural steward-ensuring branches are compliant, well-staffed, engaged with their communities, and aligned with UTFCU's mission of serving all who love Tennessee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct leadership and management to branch teams within assigned region.
- Ensure operational excellence by promoting and enforcing consistent adherence to UTFCU policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Drive exceptional member experiences across all locations through visibility, coaching, and accountability.
- Observe, coach, and develop branch leadership to build high-performing, member-obsessed teams.
- Collaborate with HR and branch leadership on staffing strategies, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts.
- Monitor and manage performance, providing ongoing feedback, conducting evaluations, and initiating corrective action when necessary.
- Partner with internal audit and compliance teams to prepare for and respond to branch audits; ensure timely remediation of findings.
- Support and drive community engagement efforts and ensure each branch is active and visible in its local market.
- Lead regular branch visits and touchpoints to maintain close connection with teams and support continuous improvement.
- Oversee scheduling practices and operational readiness across branches to ensure adequate coverage and efficiency.
- Act as a key liaison between branches and non-member facing areas, communicating needs, challenges, and opportunities upward.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in retail banking or credit union branch management, with multi-branch leadership preferred.
- Proven success in coaching and leading teams to achieve high performance in both sales and service environments.
- Strong knowledge of banking operations, compliance, policies/procedures, and audit preparation.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to community engagement and financial well-being for members.
- Ability to travel regularly between assigned branch locations.
