Job DescriptionSalary:

Purpose


The Material Transfer Heavy Truck Mechanic
is responsible for working withheavymachinery used in construction. They work with the biggest engines, inspecting, servicing, and repairing any damage to the engine orvehicle.


Job Responsibilities


  • Performs independent preventative maintenance and repairs for a fleet of Dump Trucks and Lowboys
  • Checks each unit for safety related and other defects as required
  • Works with a wide variety of people and be able to work with their needs and requests

Work Schedule


  • Full-time (10 hour days)
  • Ability to work flexible schedules such as weekends, holidays, special days, etc.
  • Overtime required


Skills and Specifications


  • Mechanical repair experience on heavy trucks and dump trucks
  • Experience in the transportation/trucking industry
  • Current valid drivers license
  • Must have own tools
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
  • Ability to legally work in the United States
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug-screen
  • Must pass a criminal background check


Preferred Qualifications


  • Computer skills
  • Class A or B Commercial Driver's License
  • Brake and AC Certified
  • Diagnosis of electrical problems
