Overview

CTG is seeking to fill an Application Architect - Java & Web Technologies position for our client.

Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 12 months

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
Participate in the full SDLC: requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs with internal and external systems.
Implement microservice-based architectures for modular, reusable, and resilient systems.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
Work with front-end, database, and infrastructure teams for seamless integration and performance optimization.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend systems.
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills:

Strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security), and Microservices.
RESTful API design and integration experience.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions.
Understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native application design.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Experience:

5+ years of Java backend development.
Telco industry experience preferred.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $85,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
