Job Description
A law firm’s Parsippany, New Jersey office is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of land use and zoning experience to join its growing real estate team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a dynamic and highly active group on a broad range of New Jersey land use, zoning, and redevelopment matters.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience handling complex land use matters in New Jersey, including preparing and prosecuting applications and appearing before municipal and county boards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage municipal and county planning board and zoning board applications
- Prepare and prosecute applications for site plan approvals, variances, rezonings, and redevelopment approvals
- Conduct land use and zoning due diligence
- Attend and participate in planning board and zoning board meetings, hearings, and related governmental proceedings
- Advise clients on development strategy and regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of New Jersey land use experience
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar in good standing (required)
- Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
- Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong client service orientation
- Self-motivated and able to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Demonstrated interest in becoming an integral member of a New Jersey real estate practice
