As a Security Officer - Front Desk Cultural Institution in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more.
As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and secure environment for visitors, staff, and guests. Your responsibilities will focus on monitoring access points, greeting and assisting individuals, and providing exceptional customer service. By remaining present and attentive at the front desk, you help to deter security-related incidents and support the unique atmosphere of the location. What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to guests and employees by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk of a cultural institution location.
- Monitor access to the facility by verifying identification and managing visitor check-in and check-out processes.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
- Observe and report any suspicious activity or unusual behavior to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with emergency response activities when appropriate, including communicating with first responders and management as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of front desk activities, incidents, and visitor information.
- Support Allied Universal and client policies by maintaining a professional presence and assisting with inquiries at the front desk.

Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
