A Maintenance Parts Clerk manages inventory for parts (industrial, etc.), handling receiving, stocking, organizing, ordering, and issuing components for maintenance/repairs, ensuring accurate records and availability using inventory software, while assisting internal/external customers and maintaining a tidy workspace

Key duties include tracking stock, bin audits, processing requests, maintaining cleanliness, and sometimes delivering parts, requiring strong organization and attention to detail.

  • Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, count, and store incoming parts; restock shelves; conduct regular bin audits; maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Ordering & Procurement: Identify needed parts from catalogs/manuals, process requests, and place orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Issuing Parts: Distribute parts to technicians or customers, charging them to the proper accounts.
  • Organization: Keep the parts room clean, orderly, and well-organized, including special order bins.
  • Customer Service: Assist internal staff (mechanics, technicians) and sometimes external customers with parts inquiries.
  • Record Keeping: Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or other software to track inventory and transactions.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with inventory control/management.
  • Knowledge of relevant parts (machinery, Corrugated if possible).
  • Proficiency with inventory software and basic computer skills.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to lift and move items.
