About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a relationship-driven Commercial Loan Officer to serve business banking and commercial real estate customers. This role will develop new business, grow and maintain an existing commercial loan portfolio, and provide financial solutions tailored to customer needs.
The ideal candidate combines sound credit judgment with strong business development skills and a desire to make a positive impact in the community. This is an in-person position and is not remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for commercial borrowers, building strong relationships throughout the lending process.
- Evaluate borrower creditworthiness and make appropriate lending decisions within the bank's risk tolerance and lending guidelines.
- Assess collateral value and status as needed during the loan application process.
- Grow and manage a commercial loan portfolio while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to increase commercial lending revenue and deposit growth.
- Identify opportunities to recommend additional banking products and services that meet customer needs.
- Build a network of community and business contacts while continuing to serve existing customers.
- Deliver responsive, attentive customer service.
- Maintain knowledge of internal lending policies and applicable banking regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Two or more years of commercial lending experience desired.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to evaluate credit and match banking solutions to customer needs.
- Interest in community involvement and developing local business relationships.
Compensation and Benefits
Our client offers compensation of $80,000–$140,000+ depending on experience, along with eligibility for incentive compensation.
