Job Description:
Copia is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Analyst to join our Information Technology team and contribute to our mission of delivering reliable and efficient IT services. The IT Analyst will be responsible for supporting our IT infrastructure, managing IT projects, and providing technical assistance to our staff. This role is suitable for candidates with entry-level to 5 years of experience in IT. The IT Analyst will report directly to the Director, Cybersecurity, working closely with Copia’s asset management, energy markets, legal, and finance teams in an individual contributor capacity. Key Responsibilities
- IT Support & Helpdesk Administration: Deliver responsive technical support for end users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network connectivity issues, while supporting helpdesk operations such as ticket management, ticket response, and employee/contractor onboarding and offboarding.[GF1]
- System Administration: Assist in the administration of IT systems, including user account management, system updates, and security configurations.
- Project Management: Participate in IT project planning and execution, including the implementation of new technologies and system upgrades.
- Documentation & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Create and maintain clear IT SOPs, process documentation, and knowledge articles; produce end‑user one‑pagers (FAQs/how‑tos) for common issues and repeat questions[GF2].
- Cybersecurity: Enforce cybersecurity best practices and policies, including managing security certifications and data access.
- Network Administration: Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure—including firewalls, switches, and access points. Support physical network infrastructure work (cabling/patching, closets/racks as applicable), and new office deployments and upgrades. Monitor network performance, configure security settings, and respond to alerts to ensure a secure and reliable IT environment.
What We Look For:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook.
- Experience with network administration and security configurations.
- Ability to create technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Proficiency with tools and platforms such as CrowdStrike, Asana, Smartsheet, and PatchMyPC.
- Troubleshooting (Hardware/Software/Peripherals), experience troubleshooting and supporting end-user hardware and software, including peripherals such as monitors, docking stations, keyboards/mice, printers, and video conferencing/AV equipment.
- Network management experience (such as Cisco Meraki), including:
o Configuring and managing firewalls, switches, and access points.o Monitoring and responding to security alerts, including rogue AP detections.o Optimizing wireless performance and implementing VLAN segmentation.
- Specific skills within Microsoft Entra and Intune, including:
o Identity Protection: Implementing and managing identity protection policies to safeguard user accounts and sensitive data.o User Access Review (UAR): Conducting regular user access reviews to ensure compliance with security policies.o Conditional Access Policies: Configuring and managing conditional access policies to control access based on risk levels.o Audit Logs and Sign-in Reports: Enabling and managing audit logs and sign-in reports for compliance and security monitoring.o Configuration Documentation: Maintaining detailed documentation of Entra configurations, including conditional access policies and custom domain names.o Endpoint management (Intune): Support device inventory and lifecycle management for corporate endpoints.o Device compliance: Configure and maintain Intune device compliance policies to enforce security standards.o Monitoring & troubleshooting: Monitor Intune posture, troubleshoot policy/app deployment, device health, and compliance issues using reporting and operational telemetry.Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 0-5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and IT infrastructure management.
- Experience with project management and vendor relations is a plus.
- Ability to work in the Washington, D.C., or Salt Lake City, UT office a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
