FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER - I

The Field Service Engineer executes repairs, performs calibrations and preventative maintenance of stability chambers. Field Service Engineer also develops lasting customer relations to increase future sales under the supervision of the Director of Service Operations.


Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Travels the contiguous United States up to 5 days a week. Some weekends as needed, independently and/or with a team member.
  • General understanding of functionality of all chambers.
  • Troubleshoots existing products for electrical and/or mechanical failures yielding a solution to the client.
  • Execute Calibrations and Preventive Maintenance in the field per Darwin’s SOPs.
  • Completes Service reports and related documentation using the companies resources (salesforce, Microsoft 365)
  • Maintains cleanliness of worksite while servicing stability chambers.
  • Assists in Quality Control if needed under the direction of the QC and Service Managers.
  • Communicates daily with the Director of Service Operations, and team as needed.
  • Completes expense reports on time.
  • Perform reach-in installations and provide customers with formal training.

Job Requirements

  • Broad knowledge and experience in electrical assemblies, mechanical components and electronics.
  • Above average skills in: customer communication, documentation, computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to: Communicate effectively with other employees and managers, use of hand tools, multimeters, and safety equipment.
  • Compressor, condenser, HVAC and refrigerant experience a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree, Vocational or Career Diploma, Certificate of Completion to relevant courses or equivalent relevant experience of 1-2 years
  • Specialized training in: Refrigeration, Mechanical and Electronic Technology
  • Other requirements: Personal Credit Card, Drivers License Class E (can be obtained on the job), Personal vehicle insurance, Clean Driving record. EPA 608 universal certification. (can be obtained on the job)
