ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically curious Junior Automation Support Resource to join our automation team within a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration of computerized and automated systems across Manufacturing and Utilities areas — all under the guidance of experienced automation engineers.

This is a hands-on, field-facing role that offers significant learning opportunities in industrial automation, pharmaceutical compliance, and computerized system support across PLCs, HMI, SCADA, DeltaV, and MES platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational Support: Assist in ensuring the continuous operation of process equipment by supporting basic programming and ongoing maintenance for Manufacturing and Utilities areas.
  • Technical Support: Provide basic technical support under supervision during installation, configuration, integration, troubleshooting, maintenance, qualification, and upgrades for computerized systems — including PLCs, HMI, DeltaV, FactoryTalk, SCADA, DCS/BAS, networking, databases, and MES systems.
  • System Improvements: Support software or hardware changes to automation and computerized systems by assisting in analysis and helping implement improvements.
  • Project Participation: Participate proactively as a team member in implementation projects for new integrated business applications and process automation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Manufacturing, Quality, IT, Engineering) on operational and project activities, including providing progress updates on assigned tasks.
  • System Maintenance: Assist in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining computerized systems in Manufacturing and Utilities areas.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of PLC, HMI, SCADA, or industrial automation concepts.
  • Familiarity with cGMP environments and pharmaceutical regulatory expectations.
  • Ability to work in a structured, regulated manufacturing environment under supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written).

Preferred

  • Hands-on academic or professional exposure to PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) or SCADA platforms.
  • Familiarity with DeltaV, FactoryTalk, or similar DCS/automation platforms.
  • Prior internship or co-op in a pharmaceutical or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 or cGMP computerized systems compliance.
