Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our to join our TekSynap team, supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the Intelligence Community. The Senior Systems Administrator performs high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Systems Administrator is expected to be able to:

  • Coordinate, direct and perform complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Continually monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities.
  • Ensure data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Plan and implement the modernization of servers.
  • Develop, implement and promote standard operating procedures and schedules.
  • Conduct hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Incumbent develops and implements new standards, policies and procedures.
  • Incumbent in this job works closely with Network and Systems Analysts to help determine and develop the systems that will be implemented.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Top Secret clearance with a CI Poly.
  • 9-13 years of relevant experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
    • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
    • CompTIA Server+
    • CompTIA Linux+
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

  • Work schedule: “Normal work hours” constitute on average 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week (excluding breaks and meal periods) within standard operational hours occurring 0600-1800, Monday-Friday, excluding Federal holidays. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
  • Amount of Travel: 20%
