Director of Engineering - Electrical Equipment Manufacturing
Location: West Jordan (Primarily onsite)
Salary Range: $140,000-215,000
Position Overview
The Director of Engineering will oversee the engineering department of about 20-40+ electrical and mechanical engineers in the manufacturing of electrical equipment. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive innovation, improve processes, and ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency within the manufacturing environment. The Director will collaborate closely with operations, manufacturing, supply chain and product development teams to align engineering strategies with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the engineering team in the development and manufacturing of electrical equipment.
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and product quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development from concept through production.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to electrical equipment manufacturing.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in production processes.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent within the organization to build a high-performing team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and electrical equipment design.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing methodologies and practices.
- Excellent management and communication skills to lead and motivate teams.
