You'll make a difference as a resource or inclusion teacher for 3rd-5th or 6th-8th grades, or as an elementary self-contained classroom teacher working with students with significant Autism.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification.
- Prior classroom experience with elementary (3rd-5th), middle school (6th-8th), or self-contained environments.
- Expertise in developing and implementing IEPs tailored to individual student needs.
- Strong ability to collaborate with fellow teachers, aides, and support staff.
- Experience working with students on the Autism spectrum, especially those with significant needs, is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that support IEP goals.
- Provide instructional and behavioral support in inclusion/resource settings or a self-contained classroom.
- Foster a nurturing, structured environment to help students achieve both academic and social-emotional growth.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute actively to IEP meetings.
