Position Overview
A public safety organization in Washington, DC is seeking a Systems Support Specialist to assist in the operation and maintenance of communications technology supporting emergency response services. This role provides hands-on support for radio, IT, and related systems used in a PSAP/ECC environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support system operations and maintenance for public safety technology
- Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution for hardware and software
- Collect and analyze technical data to support reporting needs
- Maintain documentation related to system performance and maintenance
- Support technology planning, testing, and implementation efforts
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience supporting technology systems
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of PSAP/ECC technology environments
- Proficiency in office productivity software and database tools
- Basic knowledge of planning and modeling techniques
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively
- Solid IT foundation with relevant academic coursework
