The Spring is seeking a motivated and dependable Childcare Worker for approximately 15 hours per week.
The Spring is a faith-based service provider, shelter, and advocacy organization for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking
Overview We're seeking a compassionate, attentive Childcare Worker to support children in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. This role provides direct supervision, facilitates age‑appropriate activities, and uses trauma‑informed practices to promote emotional wellbeing and positive behavior.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise children closely and maintain required staff‑to‑child ratios
- Engage children in supportive, age‑appropriate activities
- Use positive behavior management and trauma‑informed approaches
- Monitor safety, emotional wellbeing, and behavior throughout programming
- Maintain clean, organized childcare spaces and materials
- Respond calmly to behavioral challenges or crisis situations
- Follow all safety, confidentiality, and organizational policies
- Document incidents, concerns, and injuries accurately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in a childcare, educational, shelter, or program setting
- Availability for afternoons and evenings (up to 15 hrs/week)
- Experience with children of all ages, including adolescents, preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Must be able to sign The Spring's Statement of Faith

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay calm and professional in fast‑paced or high‑stress situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Maintains boundaries and confidentiality
