Job DescriptionJoin our team and help keep our practice running smoothly behind the scenes.We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Biller with Coding Experience to join our team. In this role, you'll play an important part in our revenue cycle by ensuring services are billed accurately, claims are processed efficiently, and outstanding balances are followed through to resolution.The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working independently, and knowledgeable about medical billing, coding, and insurance requirements.What You'll DoPrepare, submit, and follow up on electronic and paper medical claimsReview patient accounts and documentation to ensure accurate billing and codingEnsure claims meet payer guidelines and applicable billing requirementsInvestigate and resolve claim denials, rejections, and billing discrepanciesFollow up on outstanding accounts receivable and unpaid claimsReview EOBs and ERAs and accurately post insurance and patient paymentsVerify insurance eligibility and benefits as neededCommunicate with insurance companies, patients, providers, and team members to resolve billing issuesIdentify coding or documentation concerns that may affect reimbursement and communicate them to the appropriate staffMaintain accurate billing records while protecting patient confidentialityAssist with account reconciliation, audits, and other revenue-cycle activities as neededStay current on coding guidelines, payer requirements, and billing regulationsWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in medical billing and coding is preferredPrevious experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare revenue cycleWorking knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCSStrong understanding of insurance claims processing and reimbursementExperience using EHR/EMR systems and medical billing softwareStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize responsibilities, manage deadlines, and work independentlyKnowledge of HIPAA requirements and patient confidentiality standardsEven Better If You HaveExperience with denial management and accounts receivable follow-upKnowledge of Medicaid and commercial insurance requirementsExperience working in a physician practice or specialty medical officeWhy Join Us?You'll be part of a collaborative healthcare team where your experience and attention to detail make a meaningful difference.
