STARTING SALARY RANGE: $120,000 to $150,000 annually, dependent on experience

The Vice President of Engineering will oversee all activities relating to the engineering department including product development, technical sales support, project estimating, and department budget management. This role requires close collaboration with leadership teams to ensure all aspects of projects are On Time - On Budget - Done Right - Done Safely.

What does the Vice President of Engineering do at SpecSys?

  • Provide technical sales support to aide in customer understand of department capabilities and experience
  • Support sales in project estimating based on project historical data and knowledge
  • Assign a project lead and supporting team members to projects that have been awarded
  • Provide overall department workload scheduling
  • Supervise and provide performance reviews for engineering department staff members
  • Responsible for staff hiring
  • Provide department status updates to upper management and ownership
  • Provide department capacity availability to sales management
  • Responsible for department budget management
  • Participate as an active member of the management team
  • Responsible for department training and development
  • Overall responsibility of work performed by the department

Many tasks include their own work and/or the review of work of others in the department

How do we define a good candidate?

  • 5+ years leadership and direct management experience
  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • Engineering degree
  • Master's degree in business or mechanical engineering preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to move around industrial equipment and shop environments
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods
