The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties. This role ensures proper water distribution, system efficiency, and overall landscape health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip systems, valves, and controllers
- Diagnose and repair leaks, broken lines, faulty valves, and electrical issues
- Perform seasonal system startups, adjustments, and winterizations
- Adjust irrigation schedules based on weather conditions and landscape needs
- Conduct system inspections to ensure proper coverage and efficiency
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation controllers and wiring
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Communicate with clients and team members regarding system performance and recommendations
Qualifications:
- Experience in irrigation installation and repair preferred
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, controllers, and basic electrical components
- Ability to read site plans and irrigation layouts
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Irrigation certification (e.g., IA Certified Irrigation Technician)
- Backflow certification (a plus)
- Landscaping or construction experience
