SUMMARY - The Role

We are currently recruiting for a SCADA Automation Engineer III who will join our project services group and participate in all technical aspects, including project engineering, implementation of new product technologies and customer site support.

This position is dedicated to designing, developing, documenting, testing and aiding in the implementation of SCADA software platforms for automated control systems. The candidate will perform project activities as part of a development team to quote, execute and implement control systems at customer sites across various industries.

This position includes 4 primary functions:

  • Assist with design of SCADA architecture for distributed control systems
  • Assist with definition of SCADA system requirements and functionality
  • Develop SCADA control software from functional system descriptions
  • Execute commissioning and deployment of SCADA Systems
  • Provide support/life cycle services for deployed SCADA systems

RESPONSIBILITIES - What You’ll Do

  • Attend customer design and status review meetings
  • Assist in the development of SCADA systems architecture and requirements
  • Develop and/or optimize SCADA software for local/distributed control systems
  • Assist in the development and execution of systems testing activities
  • Collaborate with System Engineers and Project Managers during system commissioning
  • Support and manage SCADA software library
  • Analyze P&IDs and electrical schematics to facilitate control system development
  • Effectively plan and manage daily tasks with time critical awareness
  • Prepare project status reports and summaries as necessary or required
  • Travel: (e.g.) 20% travel within the Greater Boston area
  • Cooperate with others to uphold NECI’s Total Customer Commitment and focus on Quality

QUALIFICATIONS - What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
    • Experience with the implementation of SCADA systems
    • Experience with configuring distributed system networks
    • Experience executing and managing projects
    • Ability to get along well with other
    • Appropriate and professional demeanor and appearance
  • Preferred qualifications:

    • 1-3 years high-level experience implementing control systems
    • 1-3 years high-level experience with the implementation of SCADA platforms
  • Required Competencies
    • Allen Bradley Logix 5000
    • Allen Bradley FactoryTalk View
    • Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA systems
    • Microsoft Office
    • Knowledge of personal computer (PC) hardware, software and application programs
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors and co-workers
    • Ability to work independently with general directions
    • Ability to manage additional tasks as position evolves
