We are a professional staffing firm, working with organizations across the country to place exceptional candidates. Currently, we have a Bankruptcy Paralegal for our law firm client. The firm specializes in representing financial institutions, investors, title insurers, housing authorities, and select businesses in matters related to title, loan servicing, mortgage banking, consumer finance, title insurance, real estate finance, and the enforcement of mortgage loans.
Employment Type: Temp-to-hire, eligible for permanent hire after 720 hours.
The Bankruptcy Paralegal will be responsible for the specific duties listed below.
Your specific duties will include:
- Handling surplus disbursements, unlawful detainers, evictions/ejectments, and updating/monitoring client systems.
- Processing files accurately and timely, including but not limited to: responding to client inquiries, drafting pleadings, handling service, performing internal and external system updates, and escalating matters when appropriate.
- Taking appropriate and timely action upon receipt of attorney and client inquiries, internal requests/instructions, and applicable case matters.
- Receiving and resolving phone calls from borrowers, investors, other law firms, and clients.
- Understanding the legal process and drafting documents for attorney review and edit.
Required qualifications for the position include:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Background in litigation or law firm environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy.
Preferred qualifications for the position include:
- Minimum 1 year background in law firm,
- Highly dependable with consistent attendance and ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with mortgage default industry platforms (e.g., LPS/Tempo) preferred.
- Real estate closing experience is a plus.
Pay Rate Range: $20.00 – $27.00 per hour, DOE
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits including medical, dental and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
