A Data Science Director to lead advanced analytics and machine learning efforts, turning complex data into insights that drive strategy, operations, and innovation.
Who You Are
You are a seasoned data science leader who combines deep technical expertise with clear communication. You are comfortable setting direction, guiding teams, and translating complex analysis into actionable outcomes for diverse stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and deploy predictive models and machine learning solutions using Azure ML, Python, and related tools
- Leverage Microsoft Fabric for unified analytics across Power BI, Azure Synapse, OneLake, and external data sources
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define data needs and deliver production-ready solutions
- Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
- Build dashboards and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Set technical direction and best practices for data science, analytics, and data engineering
- Establish data governance, master data management, and data quality standards
- Define standards for model validation and predictive and prescriptive analytics
- Stay current with emerging tools, technologies, and industry best practices
Supervisory and leadership responsibilities: This role is expected to provide technical leadership in data science and analytics and to lead or support cross-functional teams as needed.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience working with large datasets, pattern identification, and statistical modeling
- 8+ years of programming experience with tools and languages such as Python, SQL, SPARK, Power BI, or similar
- Strong experience within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including Azure ML, Fabric, Synapse Analytics, and Power Platform
- Experience with machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling
- Knowledge of data governance, security, scalability, and CI/CD pipelines for model deployment
- Experience working with third-party data providers and APIs
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and other business applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
