Job DescriptionPosition Title: Network Architect III
Anticipated Start Date: Upon notice of award or purchase order issuance (on or around November 25, 2025)
Engagement Duration: 1 Year (November 25, 2025 – November 24, 2026)
Work Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Work Location: Hybrid (50% Remote / 50% On-Site) – New York, NY
Pay Rate: Up to $62/hr

Project Overview
The Network Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network systems that support secure and efficient IT infrastructure operations. The position will play a key role in a Network Modernization Project aimed at upgrading and standardizing the network infrastructure across multiple campuses and facilities.
Core Responsibilities
- 
Network Design and Implementation: Plan, design, and implement network systems to ensure operational efficiency and security. Gather requirements, document designs, and oversee deployment of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless LAN solutions. 
- 
Security & Compliance: Apply best practices in network security, including firewall configuration, IDS/IPS implementation, and encryption methods to safeguard sensitive data. 
- 
Monitoring & Optimization: Utilize monitoring tools to assess performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations that enhance uptime and network reliability. 
- 
Automation & Standardization: Use automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible) to streamline network configuration, device management, and software updates. Develop standardized templates for device configurations and hardware selection. 
- 
Project Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute network-related initiatives. Perform system integration testing, prepare readiness assessments, and lead go-live and cutover activities. 
- 
Technical Support & Documentation: Provide technical support post-deployment, document designs, configurations, and procedures, and prepare reports for stakeholders and senior management. 
- 
Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders to ensure that business requirements are translated into effective network solutions. 
- 
Knowledge Transfer: Deliver documentation and training to ensure successful handoff of systems knowledge to internal IT staff. 
Minimum Qualifications
- 
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 
- 
Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering with a strong emphasis on Cisco technologies 
- 
Demonstrated experience in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting 
- 
Proficiency with routers, switches, firewalls, wireless LANs, and network management tools 
- 
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills 
- 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Teams, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint 
Preferred Qualifications
- 
Advanced Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE) 
- 
Expertise with Cisco network operating systems (IOS, NX-OS, IOS-XR, IOS-XE) 
- 
In-depth knowledge of EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, STP, IPSec, VLAN, VXLAN, SNMP, and Cisco ACI 
- 
Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center, Meraki Dashboard, Nexus Dashboard, ThousandEyes, and Splunk ITSI 
- 
Skilled in network troubleshooting using SolarWinds and Wireshark 
- 
Experience managing Cisco wireless technologies (Meraki, Catalyst WLC, Client) 
- 
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects on time under tight deadlines 
- 
Strong interpersonal skills and success building partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups 
Additional Information
- 
Candidate must adhere to organizational and industry network security standards. 
- 
Knowledge transfer and mentoring of internal IT staff is expected, with all processes and configurations fully documented for reproducibility. 
- 
Some travel within the New York City metro area and surrounding regions may be required.
