Junior Field Service Technician / Help Desk Representative needed for a company in Irvine that services CNC machinery and relative components. This position will require travel throughout the USA, Canada and Mexico.
This is a Direct Hire position.
Individual will be providing installation, maintenance and technical support to customers in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Ideal candidate should derive personal and professional satisfaction by providing solutions to problems while ensuring a high level of overall customer service/satisfaction.
This position will require travel up to 70% of the time. Compensation of $50-53K base plus travel pay so can expect to earn closer to 70K the first year. Should expect to travel more in the beginning during training.
This is a "hands on" position and requires the below skills / experience:
- 2-4 years experience in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering field, preferable Automation, Automotive
- Experience building own computer
- Experience building 3d printer or similar
- Technical DYI projects
- Operating various CNC type of machines
- Knowledge of modern CNC machinery principles is highly preferred.
- ASE Certification a plus and experience with ISO 9001
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical/electronic and pneumatic components required.
- Experience with precision tools (caliper, dial gauge, etc.)
- Must have excellent organizations, communication and telephone skills
- Must have a valid Drivers License and No DUI
- Proficiency in MS Windows Office programs are a plus
- Spanish is a plus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform machine installation, preventive maintenance and training (if needed) on Client site
- Identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve customer/equipment issues in a pleasant, professional, and timely manner via phone and email;
- Support users providing necessary technical advice, provide information on machine component replacement via phone and email;
- Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles;
- Attend to shows and exhibitions if required, as technical support for installation of machines
