About the Role

As a DevOps Manager, you will lead a talented DevOps team, oversee the implementation of robust development tools and infrastructure, and drive strategic initiatives to enhance our CI/CD pipelines, system reliability, and operational efficiency. This role requires strong technical expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including US-based staff. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the DevOps strategy, managing work assignments, and ensuring seamless production operations.


A Manager of Engineering must be extremely customer focused, resourceful, and have keen business acumen. This position must be able to work and collaborate within the department and across other locations within Procurement Partners to build consensus and be a driving force in “getting things done.”. Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and mentoring for DevOps team members that support development teams who build and enhance products for our SaaS product line. Ensure we keep the talent bar high and continuously grow the skills and capabilities of the team. Provides technical leadership, insights, and motivation to multiple teams, working towards delivering reliable, efficient, high-quality system solutions, developing system plans, processes, and other deliverables on time with required operational efficiency. The position is responsible for building and motivating a high performing, talented teams of engineers located in the US and offshore locations in delivering business value and accomplishing business objectives.

What You’ll Do

  • Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Strategic Development: Develop and implement DevOps strategies, processes, and best practices to optimize development, deployment, and operational workflows.
  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and performance tuning of Linux and Windows servers in production environments.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Implementation: Design, implement, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools like CircleCI, Bitbucket, and Jenkins to streamline release processes.
  • Incident Management: Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and resolution of production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high system reliability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, engineers, and US-based teams to align development processes with business objectives.
  • Automation & Monitoring: Drive automation initiatives using tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, and ensure robust system and service monitoring with tools like Zabbix and ELK.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Identify technical challenges, develop software updates, and implement fixes to maintain system integrity.
  • Production Support: Provide on-demand support for production issues during US hours, ensuring rapid response and resolution.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve DevOps tools, processes, and infrastructure to enhance scalability and performance.

Requirements:


What You'll Bring

  • BTech/BCA/MCA or equivalent degree.
  • 12+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, with at least 4+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of managing DevOps teams and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with US-based teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, self-motivated mindset.
  • Ability to handle production issues during US hours (on-demand).
  • Strong customer focus and willingness to learn and understand customer processes.


Must-Have Skills

  • Cloud Expertise: Advanced proficiency in AWS (architecture, deployment, and management).
  • Server Administration: Expert-level knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.
  • Web Technologies: Expertise in Apache, NGINX, MySQL, Load Balancers, and DNS.
  • CI/CD Tools: Proficiency in AWS CodePipeline, Bitbucket, and Jenkins for pipeline automation.
  • Containerization: Expert in Docker and Docker Swarm for containerized deployments.
  • Automation Tools: Strong experience with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure automation.
  • Monitoring Tools: Hands-on experience with Zabbix and ELK for system and service monitoring.
  • Version Control: Expert knowledge of GIT and Bitbucket.
  • Scripting: Proficiency in shell scripting for automation and system management.
  • AWS Certification: Solutions Architect, DevOps Administrator, or SysOps Administrator.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Serverless & Event-Driven Automation: Leverage AWS Lambda for serverless automation, scheduled tasks, and event-driven workflows to optimize operations and reduce costs. Integrate Lambda with CloudWatch Events for scheduled automation and with other AWS services for seamless orchestration.
  • Messaging & Integration: Utilize Amazon MQ for managed message brokering, enabling reliable integration across distributed systems and supporting hybrid cloud architectures. Migrate legacy messaging systems to Amazon MQ using phased or hybrid approaches
  • Experience with PHP development.
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud and Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of additional monitoring or logging tools.
