AlphaStaffHCM™ is recruiting for a Sr. Surgical Veterinary Technician for on behalf of one of our key clients in Palm City, Florida. This is a non-profit organization with the mission to provide compassionate care and to nurture the bond between people and pets. The Sr. Surgical Veterinary Technician plays a critical role in supporting surgical procedures and ensuring the highest standards of animal care. This position requires advanced technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Day to day:
The Sr. Surgical Veterinary Technician plays a critical role in supporting surgical procedures and ensuring the highest standards of animal care. This position requires advanced technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, including intubation, extubating, and administering injections.
- Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery post-surgery.
- Maintain surgical instruments and ensure proper sterilization.
- Provide compassionate care and handling of animals in accordance with Fear Free principles.
- Support emergency cases and critical care situations.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient clinic environment.
Must have's:
- 3+ years of experience as a veterinary technician or surgical veterinary technician.
- 2+ years of experience in an ER veterinary clinic.
- Proficiency in surgical support tasks (intubating, extubating, injections, etc.).
Plusses:
- Experience working in an animal shelter.
- Certifications:
- Fear Free Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
- Euthanasia Certification.
- CPR Certification.
- CVT (Certified Veterinary Technician).
