Associate Hydronic Technician in Hayward, California

Drug Test

Please note that this position is a safety sensitive position (a job in which an impairment caused by drug or alcohol usage would threaten the health or safety of any person) that requires passing all drug tests including testing for marijuana use.

Salary Range: $28 - 32/hour

Job Summary

Working directly for the Shop Supervisor taking instructions and directions to prepare custom fabrication packages and begin the assembly process of HVAC and related equipment. Occasional outside service work is necessary in which the technician will need to work with a fellow technician or salesman to arrive, contact customer and perform requested duties to ensure job completion.

Key Points of Responsibility

  • Performs all tasks following industry best practices, company policies and procedures, OSHA safe work standards, and in compliance with applicable codes.
  • Adheres to the highest standards of ethics during interaction with customers, vendors, suppliers, fellow employees, and the general public.
  • Knowledge and the ability to read drawings, blueprints, and flow diagrams to build and align equipment to industry standards and means of tolerances given.
  • Records problems, actions taken to resolve the problems, worked hours, and parts and material details on work orders.
  • Operates power tools, welders, cutters, grinders, forklifts, cranes and other fabrication equipment to mount and repair HVAC and related equipment.
  • Reports to the Fabrication Supervisor daily when arriving and departing from the shop.
  • Work with the Inventory Control Administrator in order to keep the Fabrication Warehouse inventory to company standards. This includes helping with Cycle counts and end of year inventory.
  • Completes assignments and tasks as quickly as possible with little interruption.
  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complehes, and hand tools.
  • Tackweld fitted parts together.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle to go to and from jobsites and vendors as needed and directed by the Supervisor to accomplish tasks needed to sometimes start up or assist customer installations, pick up parts or deliver equipment to another technician as needed.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed and directed by the Floor Lead in order to meet time requirements and customer needs.
  • Learn parts and equipment in order to be able to pull parts based off of a bill of material in order to set up and prepare projects as required by the shop Lead and Supervisor.

Knowledge & Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Basic Electrical, Construction or Plumbing

Preferred

  • Pipe Fitting/Plumbing
  • 6G Pipe Welding
  • Knowledge of Controls

Relevant Education and Training for the position

Education/Training:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-3 Years experience as a Pipe Fitter/Welder
