Hurley Elder Care Law is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to join our Public Benefits Team. Compensation:
$42,500 - $52,500 yearly
Responsibilities:
- Document Management: Review, organize, and save scanned documents, including Medicaid-related notices and client files.
- Case Initiation: Prepare project binders and initial spreadsheets for new cases, ensuring all information is accurate and well-organized.
- Client Engagement: Assist with client retention meetings, including scanning/copying documents, obtaining necessary signatures, providing initial checklists, collecting payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
- Assist with non-retention meetings by collecting consultation fees, preparing proposal letters, and distributing appropriate materials.
- Calendar Management: Coordinate and maintain the schedule for fair hearings and other key deadlines.
- Client Support: Assist with gathering necessary documentation from clients during retention meetings and Medicaid renewal processes.
- Communication Support: Respond to incoming phone calls and emails with professionalism and efficiency.
- Administrative Assistance: Provide additional support to attorneys and the management team as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Clio software is a plus.
- Familiarity with Apple products (Mac environment).
Attributes:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
