Role Description
This on-site, full-time role of Funeral Director Associate is based in Albuquerque, NM. The responsibilities include assisting families with planning funeral services, coordinating day-of arrangements, and ensuring that all details reflect the wishes of the family. Tasks involve preparing loved ones for viewing or burial, maintaining funeral home spaces, and providing emotional support and information to those in need. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a meaningful second career in a compassionate and caring environment.
Serving families requires a desire to assist at any time including 24 hours a day/7 days a week. The funeral director associate will assist funeral directors in meeting this need by answering questions after business hours. Since funerals/memorial services are often scheduled at night and weekends, work hours may need to shift to accommodate family needs.
Qualifications
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Most critical qualification.
- Background in teaching, ministry, social services, firefighting, healthcare, or other people-focused fields.
- Skills in providing Family Services and understanding the needs of grieving loved ones
- Strong Communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with families and colleagues
- Customer Service expertise to deliver empathetic and professional support
- Ability to work in a compassionate and respectful manner
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Relevant certifications or training in funeral services (preferred but not required)
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean record. Must have a GED minimum. Must be able to pass a background check and a random drug test.
