The Heavy Industrial Assembler safely and efficiently assembles piping, valves, gauges, reliefs, burners, and other associated equipment on pressure vessels and skids in a heavy manufacturing environment. This role uses various hand, air, and power tools to build and prepare vessels and components, ensures all parts meet quality standards, and supports production and shipping activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Use a variety of hand, air, and power tools safely and correctly during assembly tasks.
- Properly identify and inspect all parts and components for defects to ensure high-quality products.
- Inspect all connections to confirm they are properly sealed and meet quality standards.
- Identify, label, and document vessel parts and components accurately.
- Prepare and secure parts and vessels for hydrostatic testing in accordance with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.
- Assist in loading and preparing shipments as needed.
- Cut and thread pipe according to specifications.
- Install, align, and seal flanged pipe to meet assembly and safety requirements.
- Assemble all piping, valves, gauges, reliefs, burners, and other associated equipment on pressure vessels and skids.
- Read and interpret assembly blueprints and bills of materials to complete builds accurately.
- Use intermediate math skills and a tape measure to perform precise measurements and layouts.
- Learn and correctly use pressure gauges, including understanding their application and how to read them.
- Follow quality and production policies and procedures, including detecting and reporting defects.
- Operate crane and forklift safely when moving materials and products, in accordance with certifications and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and support overall production efficiency.
- Work as a self-motivated multitasker, managing multiple assembly tasks while meeting quality and schedule requirements.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 6 months heavy assembly, manufacturing, or material handling experience, or equivalent experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to safely operate a crane and forklift with appropriate certification.
- Intermediate math skills and strong ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
- Ability to read and understand assembly blueprints and bills of materials.
- Ability to learn the use of pressure gauges, including their application and how to read them.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Strong understanding of and adherence to quality and production policies and procedures, including defect detection.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and self-motivation in a production environment.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in heavy industrial or non-climate-controlled manufacturing environments.
- Comfort using a variety of hand, air, and power tools for mechanical assembly.
- Experience assembling piping systems, valves, gauges, burners, or similar mechanical equipment.
- Familiarity with hydrostatic testing processes and preparation of vessels for testing.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and fluid handling components.
- Ability to contribute to shipping and material handling activities when needed.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper equipment handling.
- Effective communication skills for working with production teams and following written instructions.

Work Environment
This role is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with heavy industrial equipment and materials. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with additional Saturday hours from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. as needed. Work involves standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating tools and machinery such as cranes, forklifts, and pipe-cutting equipment. The environment is fast-paced and production-oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety procedures, proper use of tools, and adherence to quality standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Catoosa, OK.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
