What You’ll Do

• Develop a secure, mobile-responsive web platform that delivers dynamic data visualizations alongside downloadable annual reports.
• Build engaging, interactive dashboards using Power BI to showcase community metrics including crime statistics, calls for service, jail population, and more.
• Enable users to filter and explore datasets by area, crime type, and other relevant dimensions.
• Collaborate with the IT team to automate data flows from existing data warehouses, reducing manual updates and ensuring information remains current and accurate.
• Integrate multiple data types via RESTful APIs, supporting seamless updates for site visualizations.
• Work closely with IT leadership, public safety officers, and project stakeholders to gather, refine, and translate requirements into tangible features.
• Adapt solutions as needs and project scope evolve and maintain a user-focused approach informed by community feedback.
• Take initiative in leveraging forward-thinking technology solutions that build community trust and engagement.

Key Skills & Experience

• Professional experience in full stack web development – HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular), .NET Core or Node.js, C# or Java
• Hands-on expertise utilizing the Power BI REST API for embedding and automating report access
• Proficiency working with data structures such as JSON in web and API development context
• Experience with MS SQL or similar databases
• Strong understanding of data security and web infrastructure
• Excellent verbal and written communication ability to translate needs from technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Previous work with civic data, public dashboards, or high-security environments is a major plus
