What are Trust Fund Positions?
Trust Fund positions are unique to the Smithsonian. They are paid for from a variety of sources, including the Smithsonian endowment, revenue from our business activities, donations, grants and contracts. Trust employees are not part of the civil service, nor does trust fund employment lead to Federal status. The salary ranges for trust positions are generally the same as for federal positions and in many cases trust and federal employees work side by side. OVERVIEW
This position is located organizationally in Office of Digital and Innovation (ODI), Office of the Deputy Secretary, Smithsonian Institution (SI).

The Smithsonian Institution’s Office of Digital Tand Innovation (ODI) is looking for a CRM Dev Ops Manager. This role plays a key part of the Smithsonian’s CRM strategy and is responsible for designing, developing, and oversight of the initial implementation and continuous enhancements to Salesforce solutions across SI. This role ensures that Salesforce ecosystem solutions align with Institutional and Unit-level business objectives and integrates effectively with other systems. It involves managing technical teams, working with stakeholders, and providing strategic guidance to optimize the use of Salesforce and maximize ROI for the institution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Salesforce CRM DevOps release processes, implements, enforces, and maintains quality assurance processes, testing, and code promotion standards across multiple environments.
  • Manage Salesforce CRM security and compliance, ensuring solutions comply with regulatory requirements and organizational security policies.
  • Provide guidance on best practices and design patterns related to security, compliance, testing, and release management for the Salesforce CRM.
  • Maintain a suite of environments and pipelines required for reliable and timely design, development, release and production support operations.
  • Ensures that capabilities can be delivered in a timely manner while remaining reliable and secure.
  • Manage documentation on release, development, testing, and security, including environment management (backups, environment seeding, etc), workflows and compliance.
  • Manage compliance (security, privacy, PCI, etc) artifacts and documentation, and lead participation in audit activities for CRM architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive optimization opportunities in security and DevOps practices.
  • Analyze the CRM environment for DevOps and security technology and process improvements, making recommendations for optimization opportunities.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSExperience required for this position is as follows:

  • Salesforce certifications for one or more of the following: Platform Developer, Advanced Administrator, Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect
  • Ability to solve complex Security and DevOps challenges, identify risks, and provide effective solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring Salesforce components and connections for security and audit purposes.
  • Experience with monitoring tools - e.g. Nagios, Cloudwatch, etc.
  • Experience with Log Management and Analytics tools e.g. Splunk, ELK
  • Experience with Salesforce Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Experience navigating requirements from several regulatory areas (National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), PCI Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience creating procedural and audit documentation
  • Preferred: Experience developing security & compliance into pipelines
  • Preferred: Experience leading and managing large complex DevOps and Release environments.
  • Preferred: Development and security operations experience beyond Salesforce technology
  • Preferred: Experience working in Nonprofit and/or Federal environments
