Spend your summer in the pool helping swimmers build confidence and skills. The Colony Pool Swim Instructor delivers safe, engaging lessons in an outdoor community setting while promoting water safety and a positive YMCA experience.
What You’ll Do
- Teach swim lessons following YMCA curriculum and standards
- Demonstrate and teach strokes water safety skills
- Adapt instruction for different ages and ability levels
- Maintain active supervision of all swimmers
- Communicate progress and feedback to families

Qualifications:
- At least 15 years old
- Strong swimming ability and comfort teaching swim skills
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid (within required timeframe)
- Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations
- Prior swim instruction or youth program experience preferred
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor summer environment (heat, humidity, sun)
- Standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
- Extended time in the pool during lessons
- Lifting equipment and assisting children as needed
- Maintaining visual and auditory awareness at all times
