As a Plant Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you’ll be the go-to expert for installation, upkeep, and repair of industrial electrical systems—while continuously growing your skills through ongoing training.
A Day in the Life
- Begin with preventive walkdowns—verifying equipment health, code compliance, and lockout/tagout readiness.
- Shift quickly into diagnostics when issues surface, isolating faults and restoring operation to reduce downtime.
- Partner with maintenance techs, operators, and engineers to plan and complete projects efficiently.
- Capture every task—work orders, parts, and test results—with accurate documentation.
- Round out your day by exploring new tools and technologies and participating in development opportunities.
Core Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair industrial electrical equipment and infrastructure.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems and execute timely fixes to keep production moving.
- Collaborate across departments and skilled trades to complete maintenance and project work.
- Maintain thorough records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Keep current with advances in electrical technology and industry best practices.
- Engage in training and development programs to continuously expand your expertise.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrical apprenticeship is preferred.
- Active electrician license or certification in the state of West Virginia.
- Hands-on experience in industrial electrical work with strong systems knowledge.
- Working knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Sharp troubleshooting abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and overtime when required.
