Under the direction of the School Age Director, the Site Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations running a Before and/or Afterschool program at a designated site in Manchester, NH. The Site Director spearheads the leadership, programming and implementation of an out of school time program that serves local youth during the "gap" hours before school begins, or afterwards in the afternoon. This position has the capacity to be full-time or part-time depending upon candidate availability.
The Site Director acts as a role model for other staff and youth in the program while providing quality care, enriching activities and character development. This role provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to grow with us!
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and implement the daily program and curriculum
- Adhere school site program to NH Child Care Licensing regulations and maintain appropriate files
- Implement our Character Development curriculum components and role model Y core values
- Supervise, train and mentor site staff and assigned volunteers
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with school/administrative staff and parents
- Additional hours available during no school days, vacation week programs, and during our summer camp
Shift: 6:45 – 8:30a and/or 2:30 – 6:00p
Positions available at Manchester NH elementary school sites and the YMCA of Downtown Manchester
Additional hours available during school vacations, no school days, and during summer vacation
Qualifications:
Must be at least 20 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and have at least one of the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in elementary education or recreation, awarded by a regionally accredited college or university;
- A minimum of an associate’s degree in child development, education, recreation or other field of study focused on children awarded by a regionally accredited college or university;
- Certification of successful completion of training as a recreation director plus 1000 hours experience working with children in a licensed childcare program, recreation program or elementary school;
- A total of 12 credits in child development, education, recreation or other field of study focused on children from a regionally accredited college plus 1000 hours of experience working with children
- Current certification as an educator by the department of education
- Experience working with children totaling 2000 hours and:
- Current certification as a Para II educator by the department of education; or
- Both of the following:
- Documentation of enrollment in a course for at least 3 credits in child development, education, recreation or other field of study focused on children; and a written plan on file for completion of at least 3 additional credits as specified; and
- Within 12 months of the date the individual begins working as a Site Director, documentation of successful completion of a total of at least 6 credits as specified above
