A high-volume hospitality and events-driven restaurant group in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager who thrives in fast-paced environments and knows how to lead both people and operations with confidence.
This role is ideal for a hospitality leader who is highly organized, guest-focused, operationally strong, and capable of supporting both Front of House and Back of House execution while maintaining elevated service standards.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
• Partnering closely with the General Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations
• Coordinating FOH and BOH teams to ensure smooth service execution
• Leading shifts and maintaining high standards for hospitality, cleanliness, and efficiency
• Handling guest concerns professionally and resolving issues quickly
• Coaching, developing, and motivating team members through ongoing feedback and training
• Monitoring food and beverage quality while supporting vendor relationships and operational improvements
• Ensuring compliance with health, sanitation, and safety standards
• Supporting labor management, scheduling, and overall operational performance
• Assisting with financial tracking, reporting, and cost awareness initiatives
• Helping maintain a strong restaurant reputation through consistent guest experience and team leadership
What We’re Looking For
• 3+ years of leadership experience in restaurants, hospitality, events, or upscale dining environments
• Proven experience as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar leadership role
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations with the ability to speak confidently about menus, ingredients, and guest experience
• Experience managing high-volume service while maintaining attention to detail
• Hands-on leadership style with strong communication and coaching ability
• Comfortable using systems such as Toast, HotSchedules, TripleSeat, RESY/OpenTable, Paycom, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office
• Strong operational and financial awareness, including labor and cost management
• Hospitality, culinary, or business education is a plus
