We are a equipment rental business serving contractors, builders, and homeowners. Our fleet includes everything from heavy construction machinery to small homeowner tools and equipment. We are looking for a reliable, skilled Equipment Mechanic who takes pride in high-quality work, safety, and keeping equipment rental-ready to join our team in Price, UT.
This position is located in Price, UT and will require relocation or ability reliably commute to our location.
The Equipment Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide variety of rental equipment.
This includes construction machinery (i.e. skid steers, mini excavators, forklifts, compressors, trailers) as well as smaller homeowner tools (i.e. ditch witches, compactors, generators, lawn equipment, etc.).
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced with both gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general mechanical repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, scheduled services, and inspections on rental fleet equipment
- .Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel system issues.
- Repair engines (gas & diesel), hydraulics, tracks/tires, brakes, and electrical components.
- Service and repair homeowner-level rental equipment such as trenchers, compactors, stump grinders, augers, lawn/garden equipment, power tools, etc.
- Complete detailed service records, logs, and equipment check-in reports.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and work area.
- Collaborate with the rental team to prioritize repairs and ensure equipment is ready for customers.
- Perform field service calls as needed (customer job sites or breakdown pickups).
- Ensure all work meets company standards for quality, safety, and performance.
- Assist with equipment loading, unloading, and occasional yard support as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven Experience as a mechanic or service technician (equipment rental, construction, small engine, ag, or heavy equipment preferred).
- Knowledge of small engines, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work both indoors and outdoors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Customer service–minded and reliable.
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Experience with brands such as John Deere, Bobcat, CAT, Ditch Witch, Genie and similar equipment.
