Your Role
Help our GEMS travel safely and comfortably between their homes, our Adult Day Training center, and approved community destinations.
Responsibilities include:
- Safely operating a company van and following traffic laws, school-zone limits, and assigned routes.
- Providing patient, respectful assistance as clients enter and exit the van, following their individual needs and approved safety procedures.
- Ensuring seat belts and any required mobility-device restraints are properly secured.
- Maintaining attentive supervision and completing client counts and vehicle checks so no client is left unattended.
- Communicating professionally with clients, families, caregivers, and staff.
- Keeping the vehicle clean and promptly reporting maintenance concerns, incidents, or delays.
- Completing transportation records accurately.
Who We’re Looking For
Our ideal candidate has:
- A valid driver’s license appropriate for the assigned vehicle and a good driving record.
- A genuine passion for supporting adults with disabilities.
- The ability to safely assist clients into and out of the van, with reasonable accommodation as applicable.
- Dependability, punctuality, patience, and sound judgment.
- A professional appearance and respectful communication skills.
- A willingness to complete required training and driver qualification reviews.
A local criminal background check and Level II background screening are required. Candidates must meet applicable screening eligibility requirements before beginning work.
Experience supporting adults with disabilities or providing passenger transportation is welcomed.
