Due to continued growth, we are seeking a full-time Engineer to join our Site Services team in Alliance, Ohio.
The Site Services Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, installation, and ongoing support of material handling systems, with a focus on overhead cranes. This role combines mechanical engineering expertise with hands-on field service to deliver reliable, high-performing systems while ensuring customer satisfaction from initial concept through commissioning, maintenance, and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and layouts for overhead cranes and material handling equipment
- Create, review, and revise engineering drawings and documentation
- Support the installation, assembly, and commissioning of crane systems and mechanical equipment at customer sites
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and mechanical assessments of installed equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and components; assist with basic electrical troubleshooting (AC/DC) as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, to provide technical input for proposals, cost estimates, and system recommendations
- Serve as a technical resource and point of contact for customers during installation, maintenance, and service activities
- Analyze system performance, generate reports, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and overall costs for assigned projects
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA standards and wear proper PPE, especially when working in industrial environments and at heights up to 100 feet
- Travel to customer sites up to 75% or more, depending on project and service demands
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in heavy industrial manufacturing, material handling, or related field service work
- Experience with overhead cranes or similar heavy equipment strongly preferred
- Combination of engineering design and hands-on field experience is strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, structures, and industrial equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and basic electrical components
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and customer interaction skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in team-oriented field environments
