The Senior GIS Development & Data Analyst is responsible for developing GIS-related software applications and performing advanced analytics on geospatial data. This role serves as a subject matter expert in GIS technologies, providing technical guidance, building data-driven visualizations, and designing tools that improve how geographic information is collected, analyzed, and presented.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Design, develop, and maintain GIS software applications, tools, and integrations.

\n

• Analyze and model complex geospatial datasets to produce maps, dashboards, and reports.

\n

• Source, compile, and validate data from multiple inputs including satellite imagery, existing maps, and field observations.

\n

• Develop user interfaces, scripts, and automation tools to support GIS workflows.

\n

• Participate in the design and enhancement of enterprise GIS platforms, including web applications and analytics solutions.

\n

• Establish and maintain standards and procedures for high-priority GIS data production and services.

\n

• Provide advanced technical support for urgent programming issues or data analysis needs.

\n

• Create visual outputs such as maps, charts, and graphs to support decision-making.

\n

• Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and approaches to meet evolving geospatial requirements.

\n

• Train users and technical staff on GIS tools, best practices, and system usage.

\n

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define GIS needs, project scope, and architectural considerations.

\n

• Document development efforts and provide regular updates on project status.

\n

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior GIS analysts and developers.

\n

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

\n

\n
• 5+ years of directly related GIS development or geospatial analytics experience.

\n

• Strong expertise with ESRI tools and platforms, including:

\n

• ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcFM

\n

• ArcPy, ArcObjects (.NET), ArcGIS API for JavaScript

\n

• ESRI Model Builder

\n

• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, VB, or C#.

\n

• Experience working with APIs and SDKs for GIS development.

\n

• Strong SQL skills, preferably with Oracle / PL-SQL and enterprise geodatabases.

\n

• Knowledge of ArcSDE and versioned database environments.

\n

• Understanding of relational database concepts (tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, etc.).

\n

• Familiarity with geospatial analysis techniques and GIS data modeling.

\n

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and basic AutoCAD.

\n

• Understanding of GPS and geographic positioning systems.

\n

• Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to different business processes quickly.

\n

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

\n

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

\n

Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field.

\n

• Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.

\n

Work Environment

\n

\n
• Primarily office-based role.

\n

• Up to 25% travel may be required depending on project needs.

\n
