This contract opportunity is perfect for a passionate Special Education Teacher seeking experience in a collaborative, inclusive middle school environment. Located near La Fayette, GA, you’ll support students at Rossville Middle School from now through May 21st, 2027, working a consistent, full-time weekday schedule of 7:45am to 3:45pm.
You’ll help empower and motivate students in 6th through 8th grades within a co-teaching and inclusion classroom model. Expect a manageable caseload of approximately 10-12 students per group, supporting diverse learning needs in Math, Science, and ELA. All students served are in a co-taught setting (no toileting/diapering required), and while some may have behavioral plans in place, those requiring more significant interventions are not included in this classroom model.
Qualifications:
- Active GaPSC SPED Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement required
- Experience supporting students with Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers in a co-teaching setup
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and personalized support
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs and behavior plans
- Excellent communication and organization skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-teach Math and Science for 6th graders, ELA and Science for 7th/8th graders
- Deliver accommodations and modifications according to IEPs
- Contribute to inclusive instructional strategies and behavior support
- Participate in student evaluations, IEP meetings, and progress monitoring
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students, families, and fellow educators
